The Morrison Government has appointed Ms Leanne Heywood OAM and Mr Timothy Longstaff as Non-Executive Directors of Snowy Hydro Limited (SHL) for three-year terms. and has reappointed Mr Scott Mitchell as a Non-Executive Director for a further three-year term.

 

These appointments will support the SHL Board to continue to deliver on major projects such as Snowy 2.0 and the Hunter Power Project, key priorities for the Government that are supporting thousands of jobs and securing affordable and reliable energy for Australian households and businesses.

 

Ms Heywood is a recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia, former NSW Business Woman of the Year (2019) and has extensive governance and commercial experience gained through an international career in the mining sector, including 10 years with Rio Tinto. Ms Heywood currently serves on the Boards of Allkem Ltd, Midway Ltd and Quickstep Holdings.

 

Mr Longstaff is an accomplished senior executive, Non-Executive Director and Chartered Accountant with 25 years’ experience in investment banking at top tier global firms. Mr Longstaff currently serves on the Boards of Inghams Group Limited, Perenti Global Limited, the George Institute for Global Health and the Government’s Takeovers Panel.

 

Mr Mitchell has served on the SHL Board since March 2019 as a Non-Executive Director and brings extensive experience in government, public policy, stakeholder relations and strategic development to the Board.

 

The Government also acknowledges Mr Richard Sheppard’s outstanding contribution to the SHL Board since his appointment in 2015. Mr Sheppard oversaw the company’s transition to a wholly-owned Commonwealth Company and the significant investments in Snowy 2.0 and the Hunter Power Project. We thank Mr Sheppard for his service to the SHL Board.

 

The Government congratulates Ms Heywood, Mr Longstaff and Mr Mitchell on these appointments and looks forward to continuing to work with the SHL Board.
